How to Migrate from GloriaFood Without Losing Orders
The biggest fear when switching restaurant ordering systems is losing orders during the transition. A customer visits your website, clicks your order button, and hits a dead page — that order is gone forever. This guide shows you exactly how to migrate from GloriaFood to ShopexHub with zero downtime and zero lost orders.
The Strategy: Set Up Before You Switch Off
The golden rule of any platform migration is: get your new system fully set up and tested before removing or disabling the old one. Do not cancel your GloriaFood account until your ShopexHub page is live and accepting real orders.
Step-by-Step Migration Plan
Step 1 — Create your ShopexHub account (5 minutes)
Go to shopexhub.be/for-restaurants/onboarding/ and sign up. Enter your restaurant name, address, phone and email. You'll get a ShopexHub ordering URL immediately.
Step 2 — Build your menu (10–20 minutes)
Add your menu categories and products. If you have a PDF menu, email it to info@shopexhub.be and our team will import it for you at no charge. Have your old menu open in another tab as a reference.
Step 3 — Set up payments (10 minutes)
Connect Stripe to enable Bancontact and card payments. This requires a Belgian bank account and your business details. Most restaurants complete this in under 10 minutes.
Step 4 — Do a test order (5 minutes)
Place a test order on your ShopexHub page to confirm that orders come through, notifications work, and the payment flow is correct. Check on both mobile and desktop.
Step 5 — Switch your links in the right order
Update your links in this order: (1) Google Business profile, (2) your own website, (3) Facebook, (4) Instagram bio, (5) QR codes in-store. This ensures your highest-traffic channels are covered first.
Step 6 — Announce the change to your customers
Post a simple message on Facebook and Instagram: "We've upgraded our online ordering — order directly at [your new link]." A short, positive message is enough.
What You Cannot Transfer Automatically
- Order history: Download it before the shutdown if you need it for records.
- Customer email addresses: If GloriaFood collected emails, those belonged to them. Going forward, ShopexHub stores all customer data for you.
- Printed QR codes: Any physical materials pointing to your old URL will need to be replaced.
How Long Does the Full Migration Take?
Most restaurants complete the entire migration in under 2 hours — including menu setup, payment setup, testing and link updates. If you use our menu import service, you can have everything done in under 30 minutes of your own time.
