GloriaFood Alternative for Belgian Restaurants: What to Choose
GloriaFood no longer accepts new signups, and restaurants that used it need a replacement for their ordering link. This page compares the realistic options for an independent restaurant in Belgium, and says plainly where ShopexHub is not the right fit. If you are new to this, the migration guide shows the steps to switch without losing orders.
What a good GloriaFood replacement needs
- Direct orders. Orders and payments go to you, not through a marketplace.
- Customer data you own. Emails and order history belong to your restaurant and can be exported.
- Bancontact. Most Belgian customers pay with it, so it has to be there.
- Fast setup. You cannot afford weeks without an ordering link.
- A growth path. Kiosk, kitchen display, reservations and a till, without switching again.
The options compared
Option 1: A direct ordering platform (ShopexHub)
Your own branded ordering page, Bancontact and card payments through Stripe, a customer database you own, reservations, and a path to a till, kiosk and kitchen display. Built in Belgium, with support in Oostende.
- Starter, €24 per month: ordering website, Bancontact and cards, takeaway and delivery, customer database, digital menu and reservations, email support.
- Pro, €89 per month: everything in Starter plus till with kitchen display and receipt printer, self-ordering kiosk, digital menu board, your own domain and marketing tools.
- Costs to know about: prices are excluding VAT. Online payments carry a transaction fee on top of Stripe's own fees: 5% on Starter and 3% on Pro. There is no fee on card payments at your own till or kiosk. 30 days free, no minimum contract.
- Not yet: the till is not GKS 2.0 certified. Until it is, ShopexHub runs next to your current till. You can follow progress on the GKS 2.0 page.
Option 2: Marketplaces (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat)
They bring new customers and handle couriers, but they charge a commission on every order, roughly 15% to 30% depending on the contract, and they keep the customer relationship. They are a different model, not a replacement for GloriaFood. Many restaurants use both: marketplaces to be found, their own site for regulars. The Uber Eats calculator shows what moving regular customers to your own site would save.
Option 3: A website builder with an ordering plugin
A Wix or Squarespace site with an ordering plugin gives you full design control and orders go to you. It takes more work to set up and maintain, and Belgian payments and VAT details are your own job. A fit if you already have a designer and want a fully custom site.
If you run more than one location
GloriaFood worked as one account per location. On ShopexHub each location has its own menu, opening hours, delivery zones, ordering page and customer data, all on the same platform. Move your busiest location first, then repeat the same steps for the others. Email info@shopexhub.be with your location list if you want help with a plan.
Trying it costs nothing
The 30 day trial gives you full access with no credit card. If you send your menu as a PDF, screenshot or plain text to info@shopexhub.be, we build it for you at no charge. After the trial you pay the monthly plan, or you stop with no penalty.
Questions
What is the best GloriaFood alternative for a Belgian restaurant?
If you want to keep direct orders and own your customer data, a direct ordering platform with Bancontact is the closest match. Marketplaces are a different model with commission on every order.
Can I move several locations?
Yes. Each location gets its own setup. Start with the busiest one.
Is the ShopexHub till GKS 2.0 certified?
Not yet. The certification is in progress. Online ordering, kiosk, kitchen display and menu boards work next to your current till in the meantime.
